‘Rivers Early Prolific’ Plum Tree

‘Rivers Early Prolific’ Plum Tree

• An attractive English plum raised by the famous Rivers nursery in the 1830s. This variety has small, blue-purple plums on slightly pendulous branches, giving the tree a semi-weeping form
• Excellent as a culinary plum, these can also be eaten fresh
• Heavy crops which can be harvested from July
• Self fertile, reliable and easy to grow
• Winner of RHS Plants for Pollinators status
• Can tolerate more shade than most varieties
• Our trees are professionally pruned before dispatching. This formative pruning can involve cutting the main leader, if the expert tree growers decide this will produce a better shaped tree. This can stop the tree becoming “leggy”, and promote stronger, bushier growth.MORE
