‘Pitmaston Pineapple’ Apple Tree
- An English heirloom apple with a fruity pineapple flavour, originating from the 1780s. These yellow apples are not much bigger than crabapples but pack a big flavour punch!
- Eat this unusual apple fresh or make juice
- Late season – harvest in October and store for 2-3 weeks
- A reliable cropper with excellent scab resistance
- RHS Plants for Pollinators winner
- M26 Rootstock – Max size H3m x W3m Rootstocks restrict the size of a tree to make it more suited to an average gardenMORE
- Not self fertile – Pollination Group 4 Requires pollination by another apple tree within a mile’s radius. They need to flower at the same time. Apples in the same pollination group, or one either side, can pollinate each other. In built up areas it is unlikely that there won’t be a suitable pollination partner within a mileMORE
- Our trees are professionally pruned before dispatching. This formative pruning can involve cutting the main leader, if the expert tree growers decide this will produce a better shaped tree. This can stop the tree becoming “leggy”, and promote stronger, bushier growth.MORE
