Kentia Palm (Howea Forsterian)
The Kentia Palm is a graceful and elegant indoor plant, perfect for adding a touch of tropical flair to any space. With its slender, arching fronds and tall, slender stems, this palm is a true showstopper. It’s also incredibly low-maintenance, making it a popular choice for busy households and office spaces.
The Kentia Palm is native to Lord Howe Island in the South Pacific and is well-suited to the UK’s cooler climate. It’s an excellent choice for anyone looking to add a touch of natural beauty to their home or workspace.
They are expensive because, like most palms, they are slow-growing: it takes six to seven years to get a beautiful showpiece plant like ours. In fact, if you have ever ventured through the world-famous palm house at Kew Gardens, you would have seen the space you can create with several varieties of palms.
Our tip for the Large Kentia Palm is to go big! They look wonderful when established and are well worth the extra cost. Like most houseplants, it will thrive if you treat it a little bit mean. Water sparingly and give it some space to grow, and you will be rewarded with a wonderful specimen plant.
We sell a variety of Palms, including Kentia and Areca, and source the best value for money. Our plants come in various sizes to suit any room.

Indoor Plants need a balance of nutrients to survive and grow; deficiencies stop plants from growing big and strong. Nutrients absorbed through the soil help the plant Photosynthesis, the process by which plants use water, light and carbon to create oxygen and energy.
